Avid NewsCutter family version 6.8.4

This release includes additional codec support, enhancements, issue resolutions, and quality improvements, over version 6.7.7.

For all Avid NewsCutter Users of Version 6.7 or Above

All users of Avid NewsCutter XP or Avid NewsCutter Adrenaline version 6.7 or higher automatically qualify for the version 6.8.4 software. Avid NewsCutter 6.8.4 does not require a dongle update if you are running 6.7 or higher. This update, available via download, includes the version 6.8.4 application, README files and installation instructions.

After installing the Avid NewsCutter updates, you may also want to download and install the items found in the corresponding goodies.zip file. The goodies download includes plug-ins for use in Avid NewsCutter plus demos of third-party software that will allow you to get more out of your editing system.

IMPORTANT NOTE - For v6.7 only: This release is for registered customers of Avid NewsCutter v6.7 or higher. If you are running an earlier release and you have a valid Avid Support contract, you should upgrade your system through the Support Contract Section of the Avid Download Center.

IMPORTANT NOTE- Avid Unity ISIS: We strongly recommend that Avid Unity ISIS customers only upgrade their Avid editing systems after they have installed the Avid Unity ISIS v1.4 upgrade. This upgrade is available free of charge for customers with a valid Support contract from the Support Contract Section of the Avid Download Center.

IMPORTANT NOTE- Avid Interplay:.4. Avid NewsCutter 6.8.4 is also supported in Avid Unity MediaNetwork v4.1.5, v4.2.1, v4.2.3 and 5.0, and Avid Unity ISIS v1.2 v1.3 and v1.3a environments.

Avid NewsCutter and MediaManager

Avid NewsCutter v6.5.x and higher (including v6.8.4) does not work with MediaManager. MediaManager customers can use Avid NewsCutter v6.5.x or later if they upgrade from MediaManager to Avid Interplay. Avid Workgroup Productivity Tools customers (MediaManager, TransferManager) that would like to purchase upgrades to Avid Interplay should contact their Avid reseller or Avid Inside Sales at 800-949-2843 for pricing and availability. Customers that wish to continue to use MediaManager must continue to use Avid NewsCutter v6.2.x or earlier versions of software.
