Overview:

Avid editors, assistant editors, or system support personnel using the Macintosh platform learn basic technical support concepts and techniques. This course focuses on identifying and troubleshooting common hardware and software problems on Avid Media Composer, Avid Xpress, Avid Xpress Pro, and Symphony editing systems. Over two days students learn techniques that minimize system downtime and maximize productivity. System components and their configurations are presented and explained. Macintosh and Avid software problems are covered. Troubleshooting concepts, models, and tools are also described. Lab work and role playing give students practical experience in applying troubleshooting techniques.

Support and maintenance personnel, editors and assistant editors working on the Macintosh platform, post-production facility managers, Avid Media Composer System owners.
