Overview:
Deko operators learn to take advantage of the programming power of macros and create graphics using databases as a rich source of timely data. This is a technical introduction for both programmers and non-programmers to bridge the gap between "recording keystrokes for a macro" and more sophisticated programming. Though this course is designed for the non-programmer, it is a moderately technical course.

What you will learn:

  • String and integer variables

  • Using Comparison operators for if, else and end statements
  • Programming with conditional commands
  • How to set up a loop in a macro
  • How to customize widely-used, popular macros
  • Using arrays in macros
  • Using Excel spreadsheets and simple Access database for data
  • How to register an ODBD database
  • Create a simple graphic that updates directly from a database
  • Retrieve data from a database, manipulate the data and create a graphic
